sacyr industrial carries out epc projects and services for infrastructures and industrial facilities, particularly those related to energy & power sectors.
our company is looking for a professional with between 5 and 10 years managing industrial infrastructures epc contracts.
the job location is omán.
reporting to the contract manager, the contracts engineer will be mainly responsible for:
-work with the wider project team, internal and external stakeholders.
-review bids, conduct negotiations and administer the award of contracts and contract amendments and provision of feedback to bidders
-draft appropriate contractual and commercial terms & conditions to best serve and protect companys interests
-review and amends standard contract documentation as required
-build and maintain relationships with suppliers in order to secure positive, constructive and cost effective commercial agreements for the company
-provide general assistance & advice on contractual & procurement matters as required to support companys operations.
-monitor the performance of service providers on a regular basis.
-draft project communications to subcontractors, clients and suppliers regarding contract administration and management matters.
-draft minutes of meeting to support services and supplies contracts administration.
-review, asses and approve vendors and subcontractors progress claims.
-build budgets for new projects.
-develop scope of works for subcontract scope.
-produce specifications/mtos for mechanical equipment purchases.
-liaise with consultants, suppliers and subcontractors locally (middle east - oman) and internationally.
-liaise with corporate engineering and project controls personnel in oman and in spain.
-assess vendors/subcontractors and their proposals for the supply of equipments and services from a commercial point of view.
-degree (or equivalent) in quantity surveying, law, engineering or related business subject.
-english proficiency (written and verbal).
-between 5 to 10 years professional experience post-graduation.
-demonstrable knowledge of clients and/or subcontractors and key suppliers in middle east.
-familiarity with international contract management and/or legal support consultants will be positively valued.
-experience onsite would be beneficial, especially in water treatment plants, industrial or process plant facilities.
-record keeping, including drawings, field notes, sketches, reference manuals and any other engineering materials and making sure that they are organized to assist in the administration of the contract/subcontract.
-basic project management skills, particularly in cost control and scheduling.
-desirable knowledge or familiarity with:
process plant civil construction
piping (grp, hdpe, mscl, stainless steel...)
water storage tanks
filtration equipments (sand filters, band screens, cartridge filters, strainers, membrane filters...)
solid separation systems
