Design and manufacture through liaison with customer engineering and external suppliers. Develops, evaluates, improves, design and build pre-production parts/products from concept to manufacturing; utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and PDP requirements. Identify, develop and implement pre-production assembly methods and equipment. Work on stabilizing Manufacturing processes: improving reliability, process capability, and efficiency; leading specific cost out projects directed at reducing process waste in processes related to material, methods, manpower and machines. Understand and can locate the Quality System documentation and this position's responsibilities within the system. Works with NPI team to design line layouts & individual work stations, implementing material-operator-machine flow, balance lines (with OBCs), establishing common work instructions, designing material presentations and operational ergonomics and safety. Improves safety, productivity, quality and profitability. Prevents recurrence of errors with the use of disciplined problem-solving techniques: PDCA, root cause analysis, poka-yoke, leading kaizen events. Uses lean tools and concepts to eliminate waste from our processes-value stream mapping, TPM, set-up reduction, continuous flow, 5s, pull system. Establishes and maintains process control through process capability studies, validation and SPC. Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Establishes performance metrics and audits to drive continuous improvements throughout the manufacturing processes. Reviews engineering drawings for manufacturability.
Experiencia y requisitos
Bachelors degree (A. A.) or equivalent from four-year college or technical school in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering; or 4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Lean Manufacturing Experience/Knowledge: JIT, Poka Yoke, Kanban, Cell Layout, flow optimization. Strong/ Handson mechanical aptitude with proven skills in error proofing assembly workstations (poka-yoke). Experience in design of experiments and statistical analysis is desirable. PFMEA experience/knowledge. Experienced in Time / Methods Study techniques. Knowledge of ESD Program Management desirable. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Age ( not relevant) Gender ( not relevant )
